Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Stats are so stupid. Russ had a great rating and couldn’t even move the ball. Nobody in the world who watched that game would say Russ was the better quarterback.

Did he really come back after 4 weeks on a 8 week injury? Sure looks like it --------------------------------- Pretty cool to hear that only 1 nfl scout showed up to Heinike's ODU pro day ... and it was scott turner. I think i heard that before but it was nice to hear. Last edited by SunnySide; 11-30-2021 at 11:19 AM. |

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Talk of Jimmy G being traded to clear starting position for Lance. Not unexpected/a big secret.
Should we be considered a possible landing spot, give the weak draft? Personally I don't see him as a big enough upgrade over TH to be worth pursuing for the cost. Certainly wouldn't give up a #1 for him. |

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
If TH keeps this up, he'll get an extension and we will be ok at QB for a few years

It would be the best outcome to have TH develop enough to lead this team for the next couple years. But his ceiling isn’t high enough to not have a younger plan b. If we like a QB in the 3rd or 4th round…even the late 2nd, you grab him and put that work in to develop him

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Like was said earlier, either TH needs to be hypnotized into believing every situation is down by 6 with 2 minutes to go, OR, he needs to play a higher level in the 3rd quarter especially. I feel like those series after our d was stopping them the whole offenae system TH included went into a we got this. We don't got this until that whistle blows.

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
If TH had a cannon I wouldn't be sleeping on him, I'd be buying in. But there were plays left on the field Monday because he couldn't put the mustard on it. That's why I say he's a definite keeper as a #2, because he can come in for a downed starter. But he's not a long term answer at #1.

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
I'm glad we have him right now. There are other QBs that could probably have us in this same position or better, but he is who we have now and he is getting it done, and seems to be getting better.
That being said, like MTK says, these last 6 games will be crucial for him. If he can manage to keep this team in contention, or even better, take this team to a Division title, then he has to be considered for the #1. BUT, that doesn't mean they stop trying to upgrade that position. Just because this team makes the playoffs, or wins the Division (hypothetically), doesn't mean we can't do better. |
