I honestly dont think that the bottom of ones shoes can violate the dress code. Vick wears em all the time.

They actually told him if the violated the dress code in the next game that he would be suspended. He toed the line for that game, so presumably it back to just a fine until they decide to make a similar threat.

They didn't limit it to the next game. Per the WP:

We don't have to belabor whether or not they would have actually ejected him. It was a tongue-in-cheek post, but I wanted to followup to clarify. And then to clarify again. And then again.

I doubt this is more than just an idle threat. Not saying that it couldn't happen, but if the league suspended him for different colored socks, they'd be dealing with a lot of uproar from the players union and the fans.
