Sweat started playing better during the last few games of his rookie season and yes, Young helps.I would consider him and Young untouchable, they are like Manley and Mann.

I hear you, and all the others. For me the bottomline is I trust Rivera and JDR to build and keep a top 5 D, if they think any player is a key/untouchable piece they won't trade that player. This isn't Gruden/Manusky/BA. And if giving Turner a qb that is above average takes some D pieces, I trust our D staff 100% to replace them in draft and FA.

It's about building a dominant Team, not simply a dominant DLine

I’m on the fence on Rivera after the Kyle Smith fiasco, didn’t even give him a chance.

Didn't give him a chance??? He promoted KS last year. He got a raise, a new title, ran a draft, and had a full year to make him invaluable to RR. He didn't.

What more of a chance do you want to give him? No team was calling offering him a second promotion within a year. We don't know how RR talked to him about the job and expectations, but at the same token we do know that RR ran a year without a GM and likely watched how people handled various duties.

What chance did you think KS deserved?

Snyder promoted Smith to VP, not Rivera. He didn’t give him a chance to interview, nothing.

BS That happened on Jan 13th. Yes DS commented on it in the article, but guarantee that Rivera gave the nod to it, because it was clear that RR had been given the keys to the kingdom on Dec 31st when DS said this was going to be a coach centric FO.

KS had a year on the job, with RR on chemo. You think RR didn't give KS a chance. Without being in the building I absolutely guarantee that RR gave KS tasks that gave RR either a warm fuzzy or red flag about KS' ability to be the GM. Saying that there ought to have been an interview for the guy in the position to be doing the GM job is crazy talk, when he basically was living the inteview for 365 days (Jan 13 2019 to Jan 13 2020)
