As for our entire history there and not just the last week…80 billion dollars and twenty years worth of aid and training and for what? A thirty minute fight ? We were never over there to liberate the people froM an oppressive regime anyway. We were there for oil, poppy, minerals. Funny how whenever we are liberating people they happen to live on a mountain of precious commodity. I find myself wondering why they did not get all the people out first and than the military last? Obviously they had their reasons. They did greatly underestimate the Taliban and greatly overestimate the security forces. This article is from a week ago and they were worried Kabul would be overrun in 6 months maybe. Some said 90 days. But this was lightning. |
