All he says is that they have to be good stewards in the rebranding. If 75% of the fans want redwolves (and I am not saying they do) then being good stewards would include choosing the name redwolves.

Ultimately they are going to announce the name in 2022 and I think they aren't going to be clear and straightforward until they do. The intrigue markets well.

I’m just bitter it’s not redskins bro haha jk. At this point I wish they already announced it. I like Wolves over Redwolves but I just don’t see them going that route if they are honoring the past… maybe Washington Hogs?

Lol. Yeah it's weird for me, before the name change I was as diehard that the name should not be changed as you could be. But after the initial shock, I have embraced it. I think the team, players and even some alumni support helped; definitely Rivera's steadfast commitment to the tradition and honor of the team, without high handedness around the change; and of course the team's 180 degree turn in professionalism all have helped me accept the name change. But honestly so did thinking the name will be Wolves (I don't care if it's red wolves) the Washington Wolves with the right branding is just an awesome name for a football team imo.

Warthogs or Hogs is okay, better than many others but it is not as good as Wolves

Yeah I’m used to WFT now too, as long as this team starts winning often I don’t care what the name is. You are right about wolves tho, you could kill the marketing game with that name / Logo.
