I know there is a lot of pressure on the defense given the talent they have, but the offense just made some boneheaded mistakes that I think contributed more to the loss:

- In the drive where Hopkins missed the 53-yard FG, B. Scherff had two penalties, including a hold that basically started the decline of that drive.

- Gibson fumbling after WJ3's pick was unforgivable and back breaking.

True, McKissick was barely used today.

Sorry but you have 3rd and 16 when they're back up you have to stop them and get the ball back to the offense. That is just totally inexcusable to let someone get a 3rd and 16 when the game is on the line. You are suppose to have a great line you pressure the QB and get off the field.

Offense sucked too but I put more on the guys that get all the hype. They got abused on 3rd down. I didn't see J Allen or Payne do a damn thing all day.

Frankly, I think JDR called a shitty game. We rarely blitzed and he played too much zone on third down.

Never should have cut Moreland, I blame the secondary for not doing their job.

WJ was awesome today, Fuller is what he is, ok player nothing special. The DL sucked ass that’s why we lost, call it like it is, CY didn’t do shit all game. Sweat made one great play, Allen and Payne were absent . So much for This scary Defense

Herbert was getting the ball out quickly for the most part. Can't say that he had all day back there. It wasn't super quick, but he had it out in like 2.5-3 seconds every time. The line didn't have to hold em long....but without lb play and mediocre secondary....it was a recipe for disaster. No time for the dl to really get in there.

I can't wait to see a game where Heineken plays a full game, and has a full week of 1st team reps.

Exactly! Most of Herbert's passes were quick, so I can't much blame the D-line. But I will blame the secondary and JDR. Like I said earlier, the latter had a crappy day at the office. He didn't blitz enough and played you much zone.

I blame them and JDR. The latter called a shitty game.

Our defense is overrated. Didn't matter what he called.

You can throw the ball at will against our back 7.

Called that a few days ago.. I'm sad that was the outcome but in today's offense friendly NFL.. if you don't have a good D scheme a quick passing O (majority of the league) will eat you alive. Sorry to say but we were a few years too late drafting young and have sweat ... unless they are unblockalble they are almost invisible.

Little bit shocked, but not surprised. We all knew Herbert was a baller going in…

Agree. Those changes I thought they would make at the half.....they didnt. Same area we're exposed. They neutralized our pass rush, and deeper than that we have piss poor linebackers, and a very mediocre secondary against a very good qb.
