They were looking like they were going to do some jet sweep with Carter, but I never actually saw them carry out the play. The offense just seemed vanilla.

So rsj and Thomas can catch..that’s the advantage. Bates is a blocking TE, he’s not a natural pass catcher at this point.

Now another wrinkle would be 22 out of 12 where you put 2 Rb with the 2 TE and 1 WR on the field. Run motion with JD out the backfield. Move the defense to play more base d out of Nickle and still throw out of it all day cause both your TE can catch and exploit match ups. Everyone knows the advantage of running out of 2 TE, but throwing out of two TE is where the you can ball out. Especially with a weaker passing offense like ours.
