  • When was the last time these two teams met in December with play off implications for both teams? Has not happened since Landry was coach. Entirely different teams from the owners down
2. Offense has finally gelled with the running game - For the first time since joining the Redskins, Portis finally put up back-to-back 100 yard performances. But that was agianst the Cardinals who rank in the bottom half of the league in rushing defense, and against the Rams who ranked third from last in the league in rushing defense.
He has put up big numbers on everybody this year.
  • Everybody? Really? Except week 2, he averaged only 3.0 ypg and 52 total rushing yards. You have a very low definition of BIG NUMBERS for a RB, and a very loose definition of the word EVERYBODY.
3. Cold Weather advantage - Should be listed as part of home field advantage, but the Cowboys were able to stay in the game in New York in the snow ice and wind. And the weather forecast for Sundays game is not as bad as what was in New York. Cold is cold, I would still give an edge to the Skins here.
  • Ok I respect your opinion on this, do not agree, but still respect it.
4. Better veteran presence for play-off caliber team - Where? On defense yes, but in order to have play-off experience, you had to have made the play-offs in years past. When was the last time that happened in DC? How many players do you have with play-off experience? Dallas made the play-offs 2 years ago and have many of the same players. Not what I said, " Better Vetran Presence for a Playoff Caliber Game
  • Name them please. I'll concede the youth on the Dallas Defense, but not thier talent. But for the offense on Dallas 6 of the 11 starters are a veteran presence for a play off caliber game of this magnitude. All 6 have either played in or won a Super Bowl. Bledsoe, Allen, Campbell, Keyshawn, Glenn, Rivera.
5. Sean Taylor- 1 man out of 11, can't cover the entire field alone. Especially with the injuries to your secondary. Sure they may all play on Sunday, but there is no way they are playing at 100%. Press coverage with alot more blitzing then the last game. Taylor will roam where the slant play is thrown. Then all you will have to do is watch Jacked Up.
  • Pure Speculation on your part and we will see if that pans out, but I seriously doubt you received any phone calls from Greg Williams or Joe Gibbs seeking your advice on how to use Taylor in this game.
6. Our team has only been out of 1 game the enitre year, NYG. Check all of our games, as we have been leading or have been driving for the last score - Same here, of the 5 Cowboy losses it has been by a combined score of 20 points, or 4 points per game. True
  • Glad to see we found common ground on something!
7. Your O-line with Concrete feet - Thats one for you, I am concerned about the O-line at LT and RT. A rookie to the right and a backup on the left, but they have done pretty good so far, with the exception of one game. If they were that bad and if "Concrete Feet Bledsoe" was that bad, then why is he the 4th highest rated passer in the conference and leading in votes for the Pro Bowl for the NFC. Not to mention he has more completions with less attempts than Mark Brunnel. More yardage too. If he is having a potential pro-bowl season with "Concrete feet", I do not see a problem. You guys know this is a major issue, see my point on Taylor
  • A concern yes, but not a major issue. If it was a major issue than Bledsoe would not have had the success he has had this season.
8. Your Kickers - You should do some more homework. If our kicking is that bad then yours is in the toilet. Dallas kicking game is ranked #15 in the NFL and Washingtons is ranked #26. Although just barely, at least we are ranked in the top half of the league. I can't make that arguement for Washington though. Where did you come up with that one. Rember Novak kicked for us in 5 games. Did you use kickoffs to? Coverage is a part of kickeing in case you have not heard.9. Your O-coordinator. Lets not forget why you guys lost last time and his histroy for directing such chaos - Nothing wrong with the O-coordinator, just following the philosphy of the head coach. He has shown he can shoot it out with the best in the league, as eveident on week 1 and week 13. If he was that bad, his name would not be one being mentioned as a probable head coach next year somewhere. Our "D" coordinator is being recruited too. Payton, are you kidding. Has to be the worst OC in the league. I pitty the team that even thinks of hiring him. Come to think you guys hired him, so I have some pitty for you.
  • Say what you want but it is a matter of record that he has shown that his offense has the ability to engage and win in a shootout if needed.
10. Your prevent defense, if needed does only one thing. Prevents your team from winning. Unbelivable to me that we even won last game, but the KC game you guys did it again with that stellar prevent - Dallas has not run a prevent all year, 3-4, 4-3 and nickel, but not the prevent. When you have as many close games as Dallas (see point #6) a prevent is suicide. That catch by Hall in the closing seconds to set up that last minute field goal I credit to great coaching by Vermiel. He knew with 10 seconds left that our defense would be flooding the sidelines and leave the middle of the field open. He took a chance and it paid off. His kicker let him down. Who can forget that 4th and 24 that the Eagles faced in the play-offs 2 years ago against Green Bay and they converted on the same call and won the game. You guys were clearly in prevent on that pass to hall. 2 Safties were at the 20, 3 man rush with all dropped back into umbrella zone
  • Looked like a cover 2 deep zone to me but I might be wrong, LB's and CB's covered the soft part of the sidelines zone but the 2 safeties stayed back like you said[/QUOTE]
Give me something more please! I tried to answer your questions with undeniable facts and stats and tried to stay away from speculation. All I have read from you is pure speculation and conjecture and a serious lack of facts and stats to back up what you are saying. If you can't dazzle me with facts, please don't try and baffle me with BS.

Re: Cowboys Board

OK so everyone can get i nthe mix on your 10 points here're the answeres I posted to your points. My answeres are in bold so everyone can read them no bad point intended

1. Home Field your record is 4 -2 at home losing to OAK and SD both november games yes both where close but 1 shouldn't even had to be close (oakland) and those where your last games at home our record on the road 3-3 losing to NYG by 7 SEATTLE we had that 1 and let it go by 3 and OAK by 6 all of those games where winnable NYG and OAK we almost took it at the last minute and seattle we gave it away at the last minute.

2. Our Offense has finally gelled with the running game. yes it has but your passign offense is the 1 that it's starting to hurt you vs Ari (122 yard 3 int)(17th pass defense) vs 1 of the worst pass defesens STL 156 yard 1 td (28th pass defense) and SD 96yds, 1td (27th pass defense)those are your last 3 games.

And remember we held Portis to 52 yards in 17 carries thats a 3.05 yard average. So we ain't that scared.

3. Cold Weather advantage. We practice in it and are used to it. Its December. We played in NYG 2 weeks ago and didn't hurth us that much and Bill those practices to adapt our team to the cold weather and is not like it help you against SD or OAK.

4. Better Veteran presence on our team. That really isn't a advantage Houston and NYJ have better Veteran presence than us and still they can't win and our rookies ain't playing like rookies no more and if ti was such an advantage why we didn't see it on the first game when our rookies had 1 game of NFL expirience ???

5. SEAN TAYLOR COME ON REALLY??? has he been so much of a force this year?? 43 tckls 6 pass defend 2 int ??? is he having a pro bowl year for your standarts ??? wasn't he the one tha tgave himself up and let LT score in OT ??? really I believe that LA has played way better in the few games he has started than taylor in the hole season even your rookie rogers whom I really don't like has done more in the past 2 games that he has started than taylor come on get real he's no Roy Williams players don't fear him. ANd yes I know your going to say he got beat by your team yes he did he gave 2 plays that cost us that game but believe me Taylor has gave up way more the hole season ask the giants

6. Our team has only been out of 1 game the enitre year, NYG. Check all of our games, as we have been leading or have been driving for the last score. We haven't been out in ANY GAME CHECK out our games and no team has kept us score less, the largest marging we have lost is 7

7. Your O-line with Concrete feet.yes it is can't argue there but really is your offense any better?? wasn't your offense taht gave 5 sacks last time vs us?? o yeah it was

8. Your Kicker. you ment OUR kickers right ? yeah I tought so because your kicker also cost you a game vs SD so lets leave it like that

9. Your O-coordinator. Lets not forget why you guys lost last time and his histroy for directing such chaos. your coach come on he's playing like is 1980 for christ sake he's still predictable why your still in game it ain't because of gibbs it's because of williams remmember that

10. Your prevent defense, if needed does only one thing. Prevents your team from winning. Unbelivable to me that we even won last game, but the KC game you guys did it again with that stellar prevent. Man that's true but thats every nfl team I don't get it never have your team does it 2 I don't know why they change schemes at the end of the games but hey it isn't like your defensive squeme has help you at the end of the game you let SD make 10 point i nthe 4th quarter and control the game to be more precise in the last 4 minutes. oak got 2 field goals to beat you i nthe last 6 min we know what TB did in the last minute KC scored in the 4th also to take the game.

To your point #5 about Taylor. That's the most ridiculously ignorant comment about a player on the Redskins I've heard on this site. Watch some skins game highlights and see the timing of the plays Taylor makes before you fly off the handle with baseless comments.

Was he or wasn't he the player that made a bad aproach in OT in the last LT run that wen't for a td he was the safe valve and blew it and he has had more in TB he wasn't in his position in 2 of the touchdowns passes I didn't say he's bad I said he isn't the best player on your D hey I would take Washington over ST right now every day of the week yes he's only in his second year and yes he has a great future but he hasn't develop in to force yet he has great plays but also he gives away plays

You want ridiculous comments this CT3 post saying ST is the most feared Safety in the NFL now that's ridiculous

.................... No I don't forget about the Crayton hit like I don't forget when he got beat by Crayton the year before look I never said he was BAD on contrair he is good but he isn't the diference making as CT3 put him he's good and he will get better in time but he isn't an all-pro yet.

He makes game changing plays yes but he gives up a few 2 wach the games ans see the miss assignments he's far from perfect is like saying Roy Williams is perfect he has to improve he is a top 3 Safety the hardest hitting 1 he makes a lot of plays and game changing but he makes some bad ones like the 2 blown coverages of moss in our first meetting.

Maybe you blocked this out of your memory, but I clearly recall Taylor knocking the shit and the ball out of Crayton on that key 3rd down in the 4thQ when we beat your ass. Taylor has had several game saving stops. Your barking up the wrong tree here buddy.

it wasn't luck, your boys got outplayed right at the end of the game, just like the year before when dallas beat the skins with that long pass right at the end of the 4th qtr. that wasn't luck either the skins d was outplayed on that play.

Also, remember there's not a stat that shows how often people throw at you. It's been said by more than one offensive coordinator that teams plan for him.

Re: Cowboys Board

Anybody got the guts to talk about team deficiencies? And whether or not the opposition can take advantage of them?

Dallas - O line specifically the Tackles. Does Washington have the pass rush to take advantage of this?

Dallas - Secondary. Henry banged up (groin) and are they still vulnerable to the long pass? Will Brunell be able to get the ball to the deep threat Moss? He hasn't recently.

Washington - is the offense clicking? Can the Dallas Defense shut down this offense after their worst outing at home vs KC.

Folks we can sling mud all day, but there are some new and interesting viewpoints out there if we want to hear them.

Definitely not, though the return of Griffin has helped and you can now see Phillip Daniels getting more of a push up the field... we haven't generated much pressure from the DE's all year and I don't expect that to change.

True, recently the Skins haven't gone down the field, but I do think it's a big key to this game. The season is on the line, it's time to put the throttle down and go for broke. The Skins have regrouped the past 2 weeks by getting back to pounding the football, but in order for the Skins to win this week I really think they need to get some things going down the field.

The running game has been clicking, but the passing game has been out of sync the last few weeks. Guys really need to get on the same page this week. Last week we had INT's coming off tipped balls that should have been caught and receivers not on the same page as the QB... that just can't happen.

Unfortunately, pretty much none of our problems are new

Our pass rush is insufficient, although it has improved. Our passing game is pretty transparent, due to the lack of depth at WR.

Like Matty said, our running game is pretty tight right now. If Jacobs or Farris has a breakout game (7-9 MEANINGFUL receptions), or if Thrash is playing anywhere near 100%, I think the Skins offense does well enough that it's not the problem. Then the question is can our D supply the pressure necessary to make Bledsoe make bad decisions or poor throws. If the passing game isn't there, then it's a lot more onus on the running game and the D to get to Bledsoe.

yeah Washington is having a great year as I said before he is the best player in your Defense right now I don't know why he doesn't get as much credit as Taylor

Washington is underrated, he should he headed to Hawaii again this year.

When people talk of the best LB's in the league you rarely hear his name mentioned, but it definitely should be.
