I see no benefit for them in announcing it before the season ends. Including the potential playoffs (playoffs?!). I thought they would announce it like in March, or just before the draft... maybe this "very soon" means January/February, which in term of finalizing the launching of a multi billion dollars franchise, is indeed "very soon".
