Um, can we get back to the name reveal point of the thread? I agree with the sentiment about leaving politics in a different thread.

If it is Commanders, I’ll be disappointed as I think the name isn’t particularly interesting. But I wouldn’t let it get in the way of rooting for the team. I hope others don’t either.

Sorry, I am becoming more convinced that I will not root for a team owned by DS named the Commanders. The name fits DS as an egotistical man who thinks the world revolves around him. Further it would be the height of arrogance to use the tag line "the people's team" while completely disregarding the fans inputs for the rebrand. Lots of lip service, then put it on the fans for the team's unwillingness to do what it took to get one of the main fan names (not necessarily wolves/redwolves).

This year under Jason Wright and RR the team still operated with disregard to their fans, focused on petty disputes (benches) and disparaged a team great(ST21) to cover up bad ownership.

I will always cherish the memories of the great Redskins teams but this organization doesn't deserve to be the commanders of that legacy's respect.

I am heading that way too. With Commanders or the like, we are getting a new team owned by Daniel Snyder.

Let me be clear. If the team was sold to, let's say, Jeff Bezos, John Kent Cooke, or Whoever and was named Commanders, I would cheer it on.

It all comes down to Snyder now. This is a chance for a clean break from what has been a nightmare owner.
