LOL. A very uninspired choice. They should have gone back to Zephyrs which was the franchise's original name. Before that it was Packers, but that would have gone nowhere fast and for good reason.

Wizards come from a contest and was not the result of a multi-year internal deliberation. But I agree, the name isn't very good.

I wish Leonsis would go back to the Bullets so bad. Abe is dead and his family no longer owns the team so not sure why they still are the Wizards. I have a Bullets hat and wear it all the time.

I mean there really isn't a shortened name for Commanders, so if people say Commies they're just going to sound dumb.

When Ted assumed control of the team, he invited fans to email him with suggestions and promised he would answer all. I did just that and suggested he bring back Bullets. He (or one of his minions) answered. He did not say no, but that they had some other work to do first and then would consider it.

I am perplexed as to why I have not heard back from Jason Wright.
