This organization through the years has used him as a pawn. They always trot him out there for PR things or to make the organization look good, but what is his role at this point? Has he ever had a prominent role in the organization? Not really. When they need him to make them look good here comes Doug. It's sad if you ask me. They know Doug's untouchable in this town and they use him because of it.

He was demoted when Ron was hired. Why? Dan could have given him the GM job many times but didn't. Instead he had Bruce Allen? Vinny Cerrato? A overrated drunk? SMH And that crap last week on Today was just awkward and sad.

As far as Wright is concerned, I'm happy when black men and women get a shot in a position of power in the NFL. However part of his job is to take the heat for the owners. I'm not buying that Jason is stupid enough to put that fucked up looking patch out there. Or those crappy uniforms. I would be willing to bet that is mostly Tayna. I doubt Dan would got that far away from the uniforms. Jason has to take the heat for that.

The over under on Jason imo is 3 years and I am taking the under. He's playing w/ snakes. And yes, Doug, Jason and Allen all tow the company line. They're all company men because that is what they get paid to do.
Well said.
Snyder clearly has no problem milking the legacy of Redskins greats.
I’m tired of seeing Doug and Joe Gibbs trotted out to validate some new bullshit.

I suspect that Riggins is also tired of this bullshit.

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

I was really expecting to see some players model the new uniforms, maybe that will come later, kind of a ho hum announcement to me.

But at least it's over, time to move on, as a fan or not, everyone has a choice.

Also an option to move on as a fan... And still be disappointed...

They just ended a livestream at the stadium and had three mannequins modeling the unis. I wish we had a full look at the helmets!

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

I think the uniforms will grow on me. I like the matte burgundy helmets. Hope they do something with the socks though. The patches on the black jerseys look cool.

I like them. I also like the alternate helmet with number on the side.

I expect that these uniforms will morph over time. The Nationals original blah uniforms have morphed into some of the best in MLB, WC will do the same.

The W on the front of the helmet and the patch look terrible…as expected

The mannequin expression sums up my feeling…dead and lifeless.

Terrible job Jason Wright

Terry's face looks like he's saying "WTF is this shit?" https://www.commanders.com/photos/ph...d-a8716b00687c

I'm disappointed in that (for me) it's meh as a name, it was leaked, it took 2 years to come up with this, and the whole thing feels so 2nd rate. I'm not mad, probably because I expected it (no I wasn't surprised), and the 'event' screams Snyder's influence. Just have to hope the offseason delivers some surprises and takes the focus off the name etc. I'm not overly hopeful...

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

Funny, lots were trashing the organization for making a spectacle out of the whole name announcement, and now the announcement was underwhelming - just not enough...

Honestly, I'm fine with it all, the new name, the announcement, the unis - mostly because it's over. I like Redskins better, but it had to go. A name like that has no place in today's PC world. No name was going to be good enough, let's be honest. All the name proposals were bad in my opinion, but I am on board for a fresh start after the last 30 years of suck.

Bye Felicia to all those that feel now is the time to find a new team. Chances are you weren't that much of a fan anyway. This will take some time to get used to, but as has been said ad nauseam, winning cures all.

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders

Guess we could have had Forrest Gump make a commercial to announce the new name...maybe that would have been better.
