Re: Panthers Drop Rod Like He's Hot
Interesting turn of events.. What did we get for him? Funny how he and Coles are both having terrible seasons and Gibbs got ripped for getting rid of both of them. I think it still was a mistake to let McCants go, but the Gardner move is now vindicated.

I still don't quite understand the hate for McCants. I mean of course he wasn't a gamebreaker, but he was a decent 3rd or 4th receiver. He produced far more than Jacobs ever has, and he was cheaper and picked deeper in the draft. I'm not sure what everyone expected from him. |

He hasn't been able to stick with a depleted WR corps. in Philly, that doesn't say very much for him. You said it yourself, he's a 3rd or 4th WR. I'd say he's closer to a 4th now. And most #4 guys are pretty interchangeable. |

I Liked McCants as well, I do think he was probably a player who could be playing along side Moss right now, but it was his attitude towards dedication that wounde him in the dog house with Gibbs, lets face it football isn't that important to him, and that's why he's out of here, Gibbs was rebuilding the attitude and mindset first and formost when he took over, he couldn't have McCants dragging that down. |
