I'm guessing players are warned strongly to not bet on the NFL, and definitely to not bet on their own teams even if they are betting for a win. Just dumb. The punishment should be severe.

That was a crazy punishment. He bet $1500 with a NFL salary that is like me doing my weekly $20 bets. He also bet on parlays, not like money lines and he wasn't even playing.

I could see if he was making prop bets on himself for like how many catches he gets in a game or something, then yeah it should be a full season. this is a one game ban at best for his actions, a full season cost him $11 million bucks.

All the while some how we are in over a year on Watson and no punishment no decisions etc....NFL is a joke in your town.

Is it really crazy though? If they don't drop the hammer on him they're just inviting more trouble down the line and risking the integrity of the entire game. They have to send a message that players betting on the game, and betting on their own team, will draw zero tolerance.

Funny how fast they react to things that may effect their bottom line.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. They just can't have players, coaches, refs, basically anyone directly involved in the on field action that could possibly call into question the legitimacy of the outcomes of the games.

But feel free to ask woman to jerk you off and we will take over a year to figure out what should be done.

My point is they move fast when they want too or its something that directly effects them.

I hear you. Blame the legal system for the holdup with Watson though.

Players betting on the game is a totally different animal and one where they have no choice but to drop severe punishments as a deterrent and for public perception. Does the message really get across if they suspended him for a couple of games?
