It's a tired and lazy take at this point

Sure it's fine but it's not like Ron has brought in any world beaters. I'd rather him bring in good durable players over players he's familiar with.

Wasn't Norwell one of the top guards available? He's also a very good player and he's durable. So what's the issue?

He was the highest paid guard in the NFL when signing for the Jags, coming off an All Pro season. Subsequently he has not so much as made a Pro Bowl and the Jags fans have obviously soured on him

The postive perspective for commanders fans, which as he has signed is the best way to approach it, was that I believe his OL coach in his All Pro year in Carolina is now the OL coach in Washington

Every FA list I've seen has him listed as a top 3-5 option at guard. Clearly there's more to signing him than just the Carolina connection.

Idk if Norwell was one of the top guards or not. But one of the worst teams let him go. Now Ron signs him for half the money that Flowers is making. But did you get better there? If you sign a lesser player to save money then that is a bad signing.

I would have kept Flowers and worked the cap on some other contracts. Can they put the Wentz contract into later years?

Ron did the same thing last year w/ Moses. I am trying to keep as many good o-linemen as possible because you have a Qb that holds the ball and tends to take sacks. You have to protect your asset that you traded for.

The durability comment was in regards to Samuel. He couldn't play and never had 1,000 yards so so far terrible signing. I'd just play Carter cause he actually can play and is probably 1/10th the cost...lol.

Sorry but Ron the GM so far doesn't impress me.

Commanders free agency thread

As it stands

LB
G
S
Dline depth
Oline depth (both tackle spots namely)
WR

In that order. WR could be higher if I knew Curtis Blow wasn’t gonna be healthy again but im thinking he should be.

Hopefully we can address all of that between the draft and free agency. About 8 players.

Devin Lloyd, and Kyle Hamilton are the two guys Im hoping are there at 11. Either would solve a huge problem.

Would love to see either Lloyd or Hamilton drafted by our team instead of going for a WR.

Absolutely. We need either Milne, AGG, Brown, or Sims to have a bust out year, and for Samuel to stay healthy. Than WR is set. I know we need to have a plan B if it doesn’t but if they believe in those guys and think Samuel is a go than why take a wr at 11?

This draft is loaded with big and fast WR's throughout. We can improve that position over the backup players we have now by drafting one early or late, not necessarily at 11.

Specifically, we need a Mike LB. IMO Devin Lloyd would be a good pick at 11, as you said. Christian Harris would be another good pick for MLB at #11. I also like Chad Muma and Troy Anderson in the second or third, respectively.

Don’t know much about those two. Looked them both up. Read a lot of good shit about Anderson.

Christian Harris looking like he will be there in the second round for sure. Love that kid.

Two dream scenarios…

Kyle Hamilton at 11
Christian Harris at 47

Or

Devin Lloyd at 11
Lewis Cine at 47

I have a feeling we are trading the 11th pick down, with 5 picks they need more picks.

Yeah I’d like to add more picks. With our luck in later rounds especially
