With the 11th Pick in the First Round, Washington selects…
What the eff is up? I’m ready for the draft…tell me who you want at 11 and who do you think they will take. Yes folks, everyone wants to trade down to acquire more picks…it’s rare, so let’s talk more about who you want, what makes sense and who the team will take.
I think they will take WR Garret Wilson, I want Safety Kyle Hamilton. “Chico, a safety? Really?” Yes the best safety in the draft John Keim schooled me about how much Ron and lil Bigly value the Buffalo nickel, it’s a massive need (more so than MLB) and a key for that defense. Hamilton fits that role perfectly. All the signs point to the WR and wanting to add more weapons to the offense. Wilson could fall, wouldn’t surprise me if they go best WR available. My secret sleeper pick will be if their favorite/highest rated tackle falls. Keim/Reid podcast…Keim gave some insight which sounded like inside info if a Tackle fell, they would kick Cosmi inside at Schreff old spot and gets another young lineman who starts at Right tackle and moves to Leno spot eventually.

Give me the top WR on the board at 11. Load up on weapons for CW, need to go all in with him.

I think that is the coaching staff strategy too. Also they want to grab RB later…the offense needs weapons to support Wentz

I'd look at TE at some point too.

Logan Thomas injury is serious…TE would make sense and I think with Bates being great at blocking, they would take the more downfield catching threat

I want Kyle Hamilton, but I doubt he'll be there.

Re: With the 11th Pick in the First Round, Washington selects…
I know I will change my mind 100 times before the draft.
At #11 there be a few blue chip players that will drop in our lap because a desperate or idiotic team will reach. Count on it. The WR position in this draft is so deep. Plus the current top rated NFL WR’s: 1. Davante Adams, round 2 pick 53 2. Cooper Kupp, round 3 pick 69 3. Debo Samuel, round 2 pick 36 4. Tyreek Hill, round 5 pick 165 I prefer we do not invest a high pick on a WR that has a deep WR class. If a blue chip Safety, OT or CB drops to us, we should seriously consider one. They are not a dime a dozen and hard to come by. Huge value. A big, strong run blocking Oline that can protect our QB and his fragile confidence would be a win win. There are 3 or 4 solid OT’s in this draft, if one of the top two drops to us I hope we pounce. We have been a finesse offense for years and seriously lack smash mouth run game. Being a one dimensional offense is a huge disadvantage. We have to be able to run. Finish building our Oline please. |

While I favor Chris Olave, I do agree it is a valid point that the WR class is so deep in talent that spending 11# on a WR may not be the most prudent way to go.

Mine would be Hamilton Gardner Neal Ekwonu Stingley Wilson Lloyd London Cross Dean Williams. But gotta admit my level of caring about it has taken a serious, maybe fatal, hit (for my fandom). Not really sure if I want them to get a hit on their pick or totally blow it. |

I think Olave will be the best WR. But that's a hard position to speculate on. I'd be perfectly happy with either of the other 2 you mentioned.

Like I said not sure if I want them to blow the pick or get a good player (actually leaning toward them blowing it). Every time I see that..., that name used or referenced (and especially with players that never played under that name) I grind my teeth in anger.

Re: With the 11th Pick in the First Round, Washington selects…
I think because WR is do deep this is a perfect time to take one. You are far more likely to get a hit on the talent than you would in a typical year. Wilson is my guess even though I prefer Olave. Olave is so smooth running routes but the potential ceiling with Wilson is higher.
Chico while I agree Hamilton is a stud I just don’t know how many wins this will add by addressing the defense in first round would bring.

What has been our weakness the last 3 years? LB, CB and S. Pick best player available starting with either S, CB or LB. I don't see WR as a weakness with Brown and Samuel on their second year.
