That score was more that 10 points higher than the second ranked run blocking score for a TE in 2021. To me, that is a big deal. When did we last have a TE who could block like that?
I like Bates a lot too, I just think Turner might have the more intriguing skill set as a receiving TE.

1)QB is a lock...Wentz
2)RB with AG as the Bell cow is a lock
3)Starting WR"s should be Mclaurin Samuel Datson
4)The Dline is a lock at starters Sweat Allen Payne Young if he is ready week 1
All the other units playing time and depth chart standing is up for grabs based on performance in TC and preseason games which is a good thing..
What's Your Take?
While I do think that AG will be the "bell cow" to begin the season, he has to be looking over his shoulder - seeing Robinson right on his tail. Robinson is a true RB, while Gibson was a receiver. I don't think it can be understated, the importance of having been a RB all your football life, as opposed to making that position change at the NFL level. Because of that, and with his injury history and intermittent fumblitis, I wouldn't consider AG a lock.

Definitely anxious to see how the TE position shakes out if LT isn't healthy enough to start week 1.

I also want to see how Howell performs and if Heinicke shows any improvement. Howell likely starts as the #3, but I imagine it's only a matter of time before he is the backup. The only things Heinicke has on him at this point is institutional knowledge, and NFL experience.

Yeah I wouldn't put AG down as a lock either, Robinson was drafted for a reason, he's not coming in as a 3rd rounder to sit. AG needs to up his game and hold on to the damn ball. Otherwise BR is going to cut into his workload very quickly.

Re: Training Camp is fast approaching What....

Cousins is a big time choker for me as well. I never liked Wentz, partially b.c. he was an eagle and I won't like any eagles success... after that I just never found him that good and I also view him as someone who hasn't yet proven he can get the job done. As far as choking in indy? That o line and wr group also played like shit that day and while yes, we all blame the qb or at least put the most blame on him ... that choke wasn't his fault alone. Nevertheless he's here now and I will have to root for him whether I may like it deep down or not he is part of the team now. Good luck and I wish him and us the best.

I've never seen a QB bashed as much as Wentz after having a 27 / 7 TD INT ratio lmao. Is he ELITE? No but good lord you would think he was some douchbag POS.

The funny thing is he's only had 1 outright bad year when he was hurt. Yeah he played bad in the last game of the year last year but the entire Colts team did too, wasnt just him.

I think what people notice is that all his turnover are a "What the hell were you looking at?" Type turnover

I'm rooting even more for him now. Call me a homer and yeah it's true but that dude doesn't deserve this backlash... I've seen some ranking him under Trey Lance lmao, Trey lance cant even beat out Jimmy G

These are the guys that need to come in and make a difference to lift this team with their play. These are big play guys in college, can they we get some of that this year?

A+ list quake

Not a position battle but Im interested to see what our offensive scheme will be.

Past few years we've been handicapped to a degree - limited to pre determined one look plays and short quick game. This was a good job by Turner to work with what you got and not expose our weaknesses but our O line was bottom 10 on longer developing plays.

This years offense should have more longer developing plays and Wentz isnt the best at quick decision making, taking what the D gives you.

Im interested in if this O line, with an average maybe below average LT in Leno, can hold up. Can Wentz make the right decisions on when to hang in there vs checking it down in the face of pressure.

if Wentz gets injured .. its back to pee wee football.

I think (and hope) that defenses will be mindful of our passing game, and this will help us improve the run. In previous years, I felt that defenses would just bring everyone to the line to stop the run and did not see the pass as any threat. Hopefully that will change this year with the QB change and a hopefully much improved receiver group.

Looking at this depth chart, our situation at LB and T is thin - I’m hoping we can shed some of the G who won’t make the team and get some more competition for those two positions.
