Pretty obvious Jay didn't have what it takes to be a HC, but I'm really curious about the control he had and didn't have over the offense. Reporting during that era alluded to the run game not meshing with the pass game, but Gruden is a good enough offensive mind to know that.

Always suspected that Dan or Brucifer brought Callahan in and forced the issue. It was absolutely ludicrous to have two opposing philosophies in run/pass.

I'm surprised more Bruce stories haven't leaked from that period about the dysfunction on the field, unless Dan was the puppetmaster.
