Well you should have to defend position and why they stand for something.

It’s relevant, people deserve explanations and it’s important to hear it from the person’s mouth for accountability.

Things written…no. Unfortunately they can be edited or the person can simply say…I’ve never said that or said I’ve stood for that.

If tv is so important to you and other Americans then why not have mandatory interviews? RNC chooses one interviewer and DNC another?

A debate is designed to sway an audience or a panel that their view is correct. Can you honestly say anyone watching these debates says they have changed their mind who they are voting for?

I think debates are more helpful for deciding which candidate in your own party you want to be the nominee for that party.

Once it gets to right vs. left, I don't think it very much matters anymore. Our heels are dug-in long before any debates there happen.
