We don't need to see what Howell can do, Ron needs to see what he can do. Which he does, in practice. If Howell is impressing in practice, throwing accurate dimes, showing a great knowledge of the offense and the rules, hitting receivers all day and making the defense look silly by all means Ron should see what he has.

But if Ron already watches the film of Howell in practice and it's generally unimpressive, no I don't need to see Howell in a game to determine if he should be the starter next year. I trust Ron's judgement - if he says Howell isn't ready that means he's not ready.
