Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
After having the likes of Wentz and TH, it is baffling that people turn up their noses at Carr, Jimmy G., and hell even L. Jackson (even though he won't be available).

I think the only way they sign Carr is if Snyder is staying on as owner, so...I don't want Carr here. Or Dan.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
But .. Carr makes us better, increases our chances at playoffs but wont make us a perennial contender so whats the point. Hed probably keep us floating in mediocrity purgatory which is they worst, weve been in it for years now.
-------------- My wish? Just tank next year. Loss every game accidently on purpose.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Now that Carr is gonna be a FA, he's on my same level as Jimmy G. Better than Wentz and Heinicke, and likely Howell. Wouldn't be my preference, but I wouldn't hate signing him either. Both are getting starter money, so if they're here, they're starting.

I'd take him all day over Greg R

I say F it, bring him in to see what he can do. Go get Derek Carr and Evan Engram while you're at it. Poach O. Brown Jr too, and sign McGlinchey from the 9ers. Bring in M. Peters or J. Bradberry at CB. Draft a guard and center in the first 2 rounds, then CB, LB, and O-line for the remaining picks. Only if the new owner approves of course ...assuming Dan is still selling.

Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I do not want to pay Derek Carr. I want to draft another quarterback in the mid rounds or keep Heinicke and build around Howell. Carr is not going to fair any better with this oline. He is 32 next month.
Plus he is anti clutch. It’s funny how we shit all over Cousins but now we want to roll out the red carpet for an older Cousins? Older as compared to when we let Cousins walk. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Source: Raiders release QB Derek Carr before contract deadline
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...tract-deadline Carr is 12-44 against playoff teams and has issues in cold-weather games, going 2-10 with a total QBR of 33.6 (44th out of 47 qualified QBs), a 58.0% completion percentage and a 14-14 touchdown-to-interception ratio in games where the temperature is 40 degrees or colder. He is 1-7 with a 35.5 QBR (35th out of 46 QBs) and an 8-9 TD-INT ratio when the game is played at 32 degrees or colder. I change my mind, I am completely against Carr, even as a FA. HOWELL BY DEFAULT BABY!!!

I think it's more than interesting, and provides good reason to pause about bringing him in, but it's still a team game. He didn't lose all those games by himself. Here are the defenses he has had the pleasure to play with since he joined the league. 2022 - 26th 2021 - 26th 2020 - 30th 2019 - 24th 2018 - 32nd 2017 - 20th 2016 - 20th 2015 - 22nd 2014 - 32nd He's still better than anyone we've had here since Cousins. That being said, I would still rather see what Howell can do vs. pay someone like Carr - and not be able to upgrade areas of need, and bring back some of our own. But if they swing big on Carr, I won't hate it. Just hope it works out and we have an OC that can put it all together. |
