And Coen may not be the only Rams assistant on the way out. Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, McVay told his staff that he's not sure if he'll return to the Rams next season and wouldn't stand in the way if his assistants explored other opportunities. It wasn't clear at the time of the report if anybody else was taking McVay up on his offer.

Am I being a grumpy old man ... or does it seem like an immature flaky move by Mcvay to let his staff and coordinator hanging in the breeze while he decides whether he wants to go on a year vacation soaking up the sun or not

McVay kinda full of himself a bit too much imo

lots of people and families are in limbo while childless boy wonder decides what his little heart wants to do next
