Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Looks like a good deal for him but as usual need to wait to hear what the guarantees are

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Wow Henicke really took advantage of his opportunity here. I’ll be pulling for him in the ATL. Falcons, much like us here, have decent personnel on Offense.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I really hope Cosmi can put it altogether at RG. He is a great athlete, he should be able to do it. Signing Wylie almost was like getting 2 starters. Right sight of the line should be a marked improvement. That's nice to have that done before the draft.
Time to add a LG and LT in the draft. Let Gates/Draft pick compete for the starting spot. Then have the other guy be the swing G (who would start if either G went down or C, because Gates would bump over). Same thing at tackle. I would imagine Leno starting if we draft a LT anywhere other than the 1st round, which I don't see us doing with adding Wylie. Can't wait for the draft, it's our super bowl (2nd super bowl if Snyder sells).

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Kinda hate to see him go. He was at least fun to watch and the perfect backup. I'd rather have Taylor than Andy Dalton.

Exact opposite for me, give me Dalton as a backup

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
The fans' obsession with Heinecke is a peak symptom of Ashburn syndrome. Just because he lucked his way through a few wins, doesn't make him a good QB.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I don't think it's an obsession, maybe for some. He's fun to watch, the players seem to play really hard for him and he has actually won games around here. Plus he can use his legs and move around. This is the NFL. You generally don't luck your way into wins.
If I was the actual GM would I go over what he got from the Falcons? Probably not. But whatever vet they bring in I would also draft another QB in the mid rounds. |

RG3 prime was fun to watch; TH was being in a the passenger seat of a drunk drivers car. Sure it is "exciting" but you're just waiting for the eventual crash. I call it Little Mac syndrome. Everyone wants to cheer for the under dog but in the end the game is named after Mike Tyson. We need a Mike Tyson at QB not Little Mac Tyler.

The goal of the backup imo is to be able to hold down the fort while the starter is out. I think TH more than did that during his time here. When he had to play for long periods of time he obviously got exposed, like most back up QB's do. |

And so he's willing to accept not being paid at all. So odd.
