Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread

I don’t see how 6’2” 212 is undersized when our projected starter is 6’1” 220. Both of his injuries came in the pocket passing and planting not running so I am not buying he will miss games due to running. My biggest concern is his regression passing. He used to be quietly a top 10 passer. Can he get that back?

Yeah, I don't get the whole "undersized" argument.

Sam Howell is undersized too! But not wanting $50 million a year guaranteed. Plus he is not a running QB. Also while he is short, he is not frail at all, he has a very thick muscular lower body that looks to be able to withstand a bit more punishment.

RBs tend to be like 5'9" and 230lb, and SH is on the small size for QBs. (mannings 6'4-5" and 220-230 for example).

Not that that's the be-all end-all (ie drew brees 6'0" 210).

Howell is short and stalky, like Russell Wilson. Jackson is taller and skinnier. A lot less meat on the bones than Howell.

DeShaun Watson is 3 lbs heavier than Lamar Jackson, same height. No one is calling DW undersized.

Again, this is the bullshit teams are putting out there to further devalue Jackson's worth. And the public eats it up and believes them.

If I'm Jackson, I'd lower my prize a bit but stick to wanting a fully guaranteed deal.

Looking at what is happening out there, looks like the teams are "undervaluing" Jackson just as much as the fans.

He's a stud. Personally, I'm not trying to devalue him. I have said he's a Top 10 QB. He should definitely get paid. But his body type and playing style is different than any other QB in the league. Watson doesn't run nearly as much as Jackson. Watson averaged 6 carries a game last year. Jackson's lowest number of carries in a game (besides Denver when he got hurt) was 6. And he averaged over 10 carries per game.

watson> lj as a QB

definitely not a better person which is the bigger of the two but we pay for QB play not character, sadly

Watson before trying to get rubbed off by every masseuse west of the Mississippi > Jackson.

Watson wasn't very good last year, but that's to be expected w/ such a long layoff. I'm definitely curious to see if he returns to his previous elite level in 2023.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread

If all it took to get Lamar was $50 mill guaranteed and two firsts sign me up

edit: didn't read per a year. Thought you meant 50 mil total

If it was $50 total guaranteed I'd be all for it.

If Keim says Lamar isn't coming here I take that to the bank. That dude is never wrong
