I don't see how Commanders was cheaper or easier than any of these other stupid names. I don't think anyone on this site has seen the details and financials of the choice.

Not sure how any of these make sense. Detroit's hockey team might take issue with Red Wings. Red Wolves makes zero sense and Hogs was an aspect of the team 30 years ago but is irrelevant now. All the good names are taken and Commanders is the best of a bad bunch.

Ok then change it back to guess what … Redskins ! The overwhelming majority of fans want that back .. but that ain’t gonna happen so much for what the fans want ..Washington Veterans.. Vets , I love the name however I’m sure some will hate the name and the wheel goes round ……

The name will ALWAYS be an issue with the majority of the fans. They would still be the REDSKINS if Snyder wasn't such a horrible owner that Fred Smith used it as a way to get back at him...and then have that on top of the horrible name Commanders that Snyder chose...it's just a constant reminder of how it was with him here. If the Chiefs were sold next year and the new owner changed the name to the KC Midwesterners...you think their fans wouldn't bitch because they were still winning all the time???

Hopefully this name thing dies down a bit now that we're in camp. It's exhausting. Yeah Commanders is a crappy name, but there is nothing that can be done about it right now- so not sure what the sense is beating it to death.

But I do believe that when the time is right, probably after the season, Commanders is gone. Doesn't matter if the team goes 17-0, barely anyone wants or likes it.
