Hamas didn't seize power they were chosen by the Palestinians of Gaza. Hamas didn't hide who they were, or what they wanted, and the Palestinians still chose them. After the massacre on Saturday the Palestinians of Gaza (and elsewhere) celebrated the massacre and cheered on Hamas. What is happening to Gaza is not on the Israelis, it is on Hamas and yes also the Palestinians in general in Gaza. Israel takes no pleasure when their efforts result in the deaths of innocents and unlike Hamas the innocents aren't their targets. Israel is doing what is necessary as would we (and have done) under similar circumstances. Is what Israel is doing acceptable? Yes it is.
