This is a sweet spot. Lots of potential for a difference maker or a big haul in draft picks
We all need to pull for losses in the AFC East or chances are the Pats will regain the #3 spot. A Cards win would be nice too although that hurts us versus NE.

Pats play the Jets, that’s a winnable game for them too

Posted this in the game thread by mistake.

Some bad news the Pats have to win another game or they get pick 3 back. Even though we are behind in sos right now, we play San Francisco and Dallas. Combined records of 21-9. NE plays the Jets and Bills. Combined record of 15-15. NE has to win another game. Dream scenario is cards win and NE wins. We pick second.

I don't think that is necessarily the case though it will still be tight. If you read the details on tankathon the SOS takes account of the records of all 17 opponents not just the ones played so far.

It's current but takes into account all 17 opponents. So as games are played it does get adjusted. If that makes sense

It’s the winning percentage of all 17 teams on your schedule up to the current week it doesn’t forecast future weeks into the formula

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Williams would have been drafted first overall in both 2020 [over Burrow] and 2021 [Lawrence]," another NFL general manager said. "That's no knock on either player -- and they're both really good in the league -- but Williams is a difference-maker. Joe and Trevor are distributors. Great ones. Caleb is a game-changer."

How big of a game-changer? Of the 12-plus evaluators we polled, every single one said Williams is the best quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning in 1998.

"The thing with Caleb is that he's a great passer -- on par with Burrow, Lawrence, etc. -- but he's also a great runner -- on par with Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen," said an NFC area scout with over 20 years of experience. "That's the thing people miss. He's the best prospect maybe ever at both components [combined]."

I don't know where this myth about him being a great runner has come from...

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

I’ve watched many of his games including a few live ones at OU. The kid is Special. He’s also from DC!! It literally makes perfect sense to do all you can to get Caleb.

I’d offer the 3rd pick and one of our 2nd round picks to Chicago for him. If we have to include Payne or Allen do it. They haven’t done much this year anyway

They wouldn't take that offer. If we were at pick 2 (probable best case) it would take both our 2ds and maybe a 2d next year. From the 3 spot it would take both our 2ds and a 1st next year. (To be clear this these picks are along with our 1st this year).

Caleb is a great player until he has to face top defenses. I went south on the guy after that ND game. He looked lost and confused.

Not to mention, there's a vibe or something about him that doesn't particularly resonate with me.
