The deal is nuts, but you knew some team was going to do it. To get the best hitter in MLB and one of the better pitchers is too good to turn down. Probably why the Dodgers weren't super active last FA. The rich have gotten drastically richer.

I mean now that the contract details are out, this is basically a big win for the Dodgers. Who cares if he isn't pitching? Deferring 68 out of 70 million a year? Fucking christ that's a huge win for the Dodgers to stay competitive.

The NL has the DH now too. He can DH. Doesn't have to play in the field to hit.
