Also gotta wonder if the interviews kinda bombed. Harris and Peters stressed how important the interview process was going to be, leadership most important. If Johnson never wanted to leave, why take 2nd intvw, especially after NFC title game loss?

Perhaps he's indecisive which should be a disqualification in itself. Anyway, he's out. I really don't want a retread. Perhaps Macdonald or Slowik will fill the bill.

So Ben Johnson let Washington know he was out of the running while the team was flying to meet him, source tells me. That is going to look BAD if/when he wants more head coaching interviews next year or beyond.

He may have been on the fence and got cold feet at the 11th hour. Regardless, he's not of the running. I'd now prefer Macdonald for our vacancy.

It's been less than 48 hours since the devastating loss I think most rational adults might take a few minutes of reflection before making a life changing decision, But it doesn't seem like he had that option because the teams (plural) requested second interviews as soon as it was possible
