I tend to agree. I suppose you could get a late round draft pick for him, but if he's not guy, he's a very capable backup at almost no cost.

If you keep him until another team gets desperate due to an injury or another coach's hubris makes him believe he can turn Howell into a star, then you might get considerable more than a late round pick, maybe even a couple of mid rounders.

I was thinking more along the lines of he would be #2 if we didn't grab a vet, but you hit the nail on the head; keep him if only for just this instance.

Anything is possible. Kingsbury might even think he can make something out of him and not draft a quarterback at #2. Who knows?
