Ekeler averaged a paltry 3.5 ypc last year and had 628 yards and got hurt. But if he is used just as a 3rd down back then that's probably good.

Ertz .. always hurt, past his prime. Hoping we finally draft a true Y TE.

Wagner.. past his prime, can't run anymore but is still a beast in the box. It's a passing league so I would expect him to get exposed in the passing game. I remember Gibson toasting him when we played Seattle. Should have done more of that but EB is an idiot.

Fowler... never reached his potential but I like this one. Low risk, high reward.

Mariota... terrible. He's a effing quitter and I would never sign a guy like that. Plus he sucks. Sam has way more upside.

The rest are pretty good. I'm not gonna look at everything through my Commanders glasses. I don't hate all the signings. As I said I like some, some I don't. For the most part I like what Peters is going, gutting a bad roster.

We still have six draft picks in the top 101, the second wave of free agency which thanks to these contracts we have room to be a player in that part as well, And finally there's the cuts that come after the draft that we can take advantage of. To get this many top quality starters and role players this early gives this coaching staff a ton of room to plan and build their vision.

These moves aren't the end of the plan, they are clearly foundational moves for building a strong competitive franchise.

Yeah, not sure why he's in an uproar about those FA moves. They were one year deals at lost costs. It's a win win. You upgrade what you had before without breaking the bank and allowing you to use them as stop gaps. Ertz, Ekeler, and Wagner were great moves IMO. Not much risk to them. If they flop, it was a one year deal. Nobody cares.

If you read what I wrote I do like some of the moves and overall I like that Peters is shaking things up. There were a few that I would have passed on. Definitely not in an uproar.. These are all smart signings financially.

rome wasn't built in a day

i would think adams is trying to build something competitive for next year then to continue to build from there

non of these signings make super excited that we are even playoff bound next year but its a start

Well said! It feels so good to see our new leadership in action that I can hardly wait until the draft.

628 rushing, 436 receiving. not sure on snap count, but not as bad as it seems. Other sites are reporting 2y/8.4m (4.2/per) vs the 11m (5.5/per) I've seen... I'm not sure which is right (or is that just incentives?), but at 4.2 it's a much better deal.

wagner is a 1-year rental, and I think it's fine for what we paid. he still had 183 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year.
