Re: Official New Era - Week 1 vs. Bucs Gameday Thread
Is anyone really upset over this result? This should have been expected. Things to be happy about is that Daniels played well and didn't get hurt. Next week is a key game it will show which team is going to get the overall #1 pick in 2026.

I didn't expect our defense to be 11 bitch ass pussies out there. The defense was an embarrassment. The offense was about expected.

Why would you think our Defense would be much better? We've likely improved the LB positions, but downgraded at DE, corner and safety since a year ago.

Much better? We weren't any better. Actually not better at all. I didn't expect to look no different than 2023. Especially since Quinn is supposed to be a savant coming from Dallas.

Re: Official New Era - Week 1 vs. Bucs Gameday Thread
This. We need 2 quality DE's and at least 2 CB's to make this D competitive, and probably 2 more OL. Peters could easily have swooped in and picked up 2 or 3 FA's or gone for trades to bolster the D in year one, but we all know that would be mortgaging the future. So we have what we have. Anyone expecting us to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders really doesn't know football. Whole point is seeing how Daniels does and I think he did OK. I'd like to have seen a couple more deep throws and get Scary more involved, but all in all we knew the D would have to step up to win this one and what a surprise, they didn't.
