It doesn’t matter. We all know Dan is likely going to be fired when we fail again in 26. Not as bad as 25 but think Rivera mediocrity.

Re: The annual NFL coaching carousel

If I was McDermott (and they ask) I'd be very interested in the Raiders job. 1st pick (Mendoza) an O that's a good OL and a good QB away from being very good and a lot of D pieces in place. Get in a good OC and that could be a swift turnaround, maybe even us from last year.

Of the 5 remaining jobs:

Bills- Josh Allen in his prime. You could’ve be the coach to get him over the hump.
Raiders- Can get franchise with Mendoza.

Steelers- stable organization. Owners are fine with mediocrity; as don’t want a bad season or two, to put team in position to draft qb.

Cards- some pieces but what to do at qb. Buzz, they move on from Murray.

Browns- Coaches are turning them down left and right. Still saddled with Watson for I think 1 more year. Do have extra picks this year and next; to put them in a position for a qb in 27. Probably go with Sheddur this year or even play Watson.

Lol yeah a grandpa playing qb and now interviewing for a bigtime job. ESPN said he was ultra prepared for the interview so you never know. Rivers isn't lacking for boldness for sure. Hard to not respect this guy.

I respect his playing career, last month excluded. As for the rest he's an asshole.

Re: The annual NFL coaching carousel

Not impossible but unlikely. I can't see him walking away from the Buffs to the Browns, given the mess they're in and seems nobody else wants to go there. Maybe a year or 2 once the Watson fiasco is in the rear view and Shedeur is either established or gone. Browns will likely end up with a young coach with something to prove and little chance any failure looks bad on his CV. Or an older guy with nothing to lose. Carroll maybe?

Re: The annual NFL coaching carousel

Browns hiring Deon would be a joke.

Browns will either hire one of the candidates they are still interested in, that have games today or Jim Schwartz.

Unless Sheddur blossoms; until Browns are completely free of Watson’s contract, they won’t move forward. Might as well give it to Schwartz.
This season see of Sheddur or Dillon are the guys. Browns have 2 1’s . Build the rest of the team but use one of those 1’s to try to get more 2027 picks; so you will have the flexibility to get qb in 2027 draft if needed.
