Where do you get it that the Dems can open the government at anytime? How can that not apply to the Pubs as well? Of course the GOP can open the government, they aren't trying by refusing to even negotiate.

Why on Earth would they vote for a bill that will eliminate health care coverage for millions of Americans, Americans living in poverty in the south who voted for Trump?

IN regards to MGT, well, she is a woman scorned by the Trump admin so she's currently on her revenge tour. She wanted to be the GOP nominee for the GA senate and Trump told her no. Couldn't Thune open the government? Schumer proposed a one year extension of ACA benefits and let Republicans keep everything else they wanted removal of veterans benefits etc but Thune wouldn't even open it for a vote. Can't blame dems when the Republicans hold all the power.

Anyways it sounds like it is moot. Dems are being cowards jumping ship and willing to allow 20 million Americans lose healthcare or have costs skyrocket in the end Republicans get what they want and Americans will pay the price. Too bad we couldn't have used that 40 billion we gave to Argentina to help the American people
