Not only have military leaders explained it not possible to reclaim Russian gains but Zylinkski himself in December:

Europe has fucked this up from day 1 and they want zero to do with Ukraine in NATO. But I have a hard time believe Ukraine who has been in strategic retreat the last two years can reclaim any territory without our boots on the ground or a multinational EU force.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait did you support Bush 1 sending US troops? ( I signed up for the Army the week the air war began. )

I was too young to have an informed opinion but I remember most people supported US involvement
