Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
At today's scrimmage Terry and Peters were talking cordially. Quinn said Terry has been involved in team meetings. These aren't the actions of a player who is sitting out or planning to hurt the team. Truthfully no one knows what is actually happening and Peters knows they need Terry.
Clearly both parties are waiting to make sure they have the other's absolute best offer. I personally expect Terry to be on our team and happy for 3 more years. edit just saw a video of it, maybe cordial isn't the right word. Terry standing there in a hoodie in the middle of August hands shovedein the pockets and AP with his hands on hips like he's lecturing. Makes me wonder if Terry should even be talking directly to AP without a contract extension in place. Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
I have come to the conclusion there are two scenarios here.
1) Terry is aware he's 'playing the game' and is making all this noise simply because he wants the best deal he can get and he's going to either back down and sign a reasonable offer or play out this year and see what happens in FA. If he's not a fool, he'll sign the deal. 2) He's getting really bad advice (agent), and he's ignoring outside people that are pointing out how precarious his position could become. I really hope it's 1). |

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
Terry isn’t going to sit out a game or season.
Do we agree on that?

he will have to play unless he wants no paycheck and missing training camp there is a higher probability of soft tissue injuries look a Brandon A sat out got hurt. if i am Terry i get in camp play out my contract and bet on myself next year, or take the commanders current offer , he is a 30 year old WR

I don't think he is, I think he's one of the smartest players in the NFL.

Agree that Terry is a smart player, but he is not being to smart in his negotiations right now . . . delusional would be a better word.

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
Actually that is a pretty strong word, especially when you don't know exactly what's happening between both parties. You are literally judging Terry based on rumors...

IF he doesn't sign before the season I may re-evaluate, but all accounts show he has maintained positive relationships with teammates, coaches, and even the front office. He has every right to state his position and his justifications, that doesn't mean he is delusional. Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
There is a possibility, however slim. He's taking advice from somewhere, almost certainly his agents, that he can get what he's asking for, or close to it. The reality is a lot of voices are saying he won't get it and AP has no issue playing hardball with him. I think and I hope he's smart enough to listen to those other voices too and be honest with himself. But he's listened to these guys for months and nothing so far says he is definitely willing to change his mind. He is probably playing brinkmanship, I'm just not yet prepared to bet on him not being an idiot. This could and should have been put to bed already to the benefit of both parties.

He's not that dumb and he's always been a team guy. What's going on right now is just business, pretty standard stuff. |

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
I doubt it, but nothing would surprise me at this point. Peters and the team have all the leverage in this situation. He would have a lot more if he was 4 years younger. If he sits out games, it's an ego thing with him moreso than a money thing. He would be very wise to suit up.

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract
Terry's choices are limited.
choice 1: don't take AP's best/final offer and play out this year for $19million not guaranteed, hope he exceeds last year, and stays healthy. Then hope we don't use the FT and he gets a similar or better deal than AP's final offer with his desired guarantees. or choice 2: take AP's best and final offer and pocket between $50 and 58Million guaranteed. It's not rocket science to know which option he will choose, and it's not that hard to understand that he is holding out to the last minute to find out what AP's last/best offer really is. to state the obvious: choice one would be stupid because if he's healthy and exceeds last year we are definitely FT'ing him so his max from choice 1 is 49million with serious downside risk of less playing time/injury I don't think Terry is stupid so I am not worried that he will sign and be on the roster for game 1.
