Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

Still a few guys we should be interested in. I'm not convinced on Hendrickson (do GM's think his injury recovery is a big issue?), but if they sign him it's hard to argue its not a ballsy move. I would like to see us go after:
Doubs - obvious really, strengthen the WR room.
Chaisson - 2 consecutive good seasons; he or Hendrickson would signal we're not drafting Edge @7.
Chenal - fills out LB depth at least, and maybe a good foil if we went after Reese or Styles @ LB?
Cross - only 24 and did very well in Indy. Suspect they'll be trying to re-sign him, but worth pursuing.
Brisker - if not Cross, then...
Newsome II - consistency might be an issue, but he's capable of top play. Adds depth if nothing else.
White - 27 so... Good receiving back, and would give us more freedom in the draft.

Beyond these guys, plenty of room for improving depth at least, though I expect the depth guys will be picked up once the initial rush is over. Big question - is AP pursuing these guys (and we're not hearing any noise) or is he sitting back and waiting to see who is still available later in the week. Hope its the former.

Well, 3 out of 7 so far, and only Doubs and Newsome signed elsewhere. Worth going after Brisker after signing Cross? Now we're lighter at RB I really like the look of White now (with at least Rodriguez gone).

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

I am hoping for some WR and LB help today. I still like the idea of taking Downs at 7.

Agree. If we get another top/good Edge (Hendrickson?), LB and WR today, then I'd lean into Downs as the pick. But even then, if Reese is still there he'd be hard to overlook for Downs. Choices, choices...

I do think we will snag BA when released but that doesn’t really move needle for me. I like the Oweh and Settle signings. That definitely raises the floor of the defense

Samuels back? Do we actually want him? Will he come back for a reasonable contract?

I don't think we want him but the way things are going we might well need him

I may be in a minority here, but I like Deebo and thought he played reasonably well for us. He led in both catches and yards, and with all the problems we had on both sides of the ball, he wasn't someone that I worried about. And he did all that we asked and by all accounts was a good teammate. I'd be happy for him to return on a cap friendly deal.

Yeah just to be clear - when I said I don't think we want him I meant we as in the team, I'm not sure they see him as a fit for the new offense.

From a personal point of view I like him and think he played well last season in difficult circumstances. I'd be very happy to have him back at the right price.
