Re: The annual QB carousel
Making that kind of money -- why would he? Not that he'll get it all as there's a limit about what is guaranteed, but he's now surpassed Tom Brady for $ under his several FA contracts. Which is insane.

Re: The annual QB carousel
He's almost 38 years years old and worth nearly 200 million. Many would want to travel, relax, and hang out with the fam instead of getting beat up every week. His choice. Dude has stones to jump into Vegas dealing with Davis and Brady.

Re: The annual QB carousel
If he sees the field for any significant action it means Mendoza is hurt or a bust. He's insurance, so unlikely to get significantly beat up now.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Not necessarily. Klint said that it would be ideal for a rookie QB to sit behind a vet QB. I imagine it will depend on how Cousins pick up the offense during the training camp, which should be no issue for him.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Cousins starts week 1. Mendoza needs to sit and learn. If anyone knows about this it is Tom Brady. Where he's drafted doesn't equate to him being a day 1 immediate starter.

Kirk Cousins is a sure fire Hall of Famer - in the business of sports.
Big props to him, king of the guaranteed money. |

Re: The annual QB carousel
I’d also add Cousins is still one of the best 32 QBs in the league. I think he has a lot to provide from a mentor standpoint especially when dealing with things out of your locus of control from a front office perspective.

Re: The annual QB carousel
I think he would play the mentor role also well on the field and dealing with the front office. He has stated he was unaware when he signed with Atlanta that they were going to draft Penix. Cousins is clearly battle tested somehow surviving Allen/Snyder (Kurt Cousins smh). Like this move a lot for Vegas.
