Would you trade up for Love? Or just wait and see if he’s there at 7.

I hope we don’t do this. I’d rather have Downs at 7. Or Styles or Reese or Bain. I’ll bet one of those guys is available.

Would not trade up for him. Honestly I'd trade the pick down if possible. People are sleeping on the other ND back that may be 2nd back taken Jadarian Price. Kid should be a very good NFL back. Love Jeremiah Love but hard to go top 10 for me on a guy I don't view as an every down back.

Us trading up for anyone makes no sense. What collateral do we have that makes any of the top 6 worth losing it for? Arguably we could use all of the guys slated 2-7, and whoever we get should be an immediate starter so why give up capital? Especially for a running back in this day and age.

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

Skinsnut board for Commanders:
(top 5 are potential stars /playmakers IMO)
1. Bailey edge, not likely
2. Reese edge, not likely
3. Downs safety, possible
4. Love RB, unlikely
5. Styles LB, possible
6. Bain DL, likely
7. Delane CB, likely
8. Tate WR, meh

So, according to this theory, it's Downs vs Styles and they pick Downs due to film over measurables. But it really comes down to if either Love or Styles are picked. I see Downs as being likely. CB is backup plan, they guy is good and ideal positional value. I don't see a #1 wr worth our pick which should be used on a future household name otherwise we settle for a 7 year guy like bain or a cb.

I personally think the top 5 here are can't miss, so I'd target them in this order (although reese is a bit of a projection) it is also possible Bain could be great too, but the short arm thing will hurt him in the NFL and he could get slowed every play.
Thoughts?

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

Trade down if possible. Love likely won’t be there at #7. Tate is not the best WR, and would be a reach to take at #7 (IMO). Downs, is not a ball hawking, play-making S, and is too similar to Cross.

Delane, or Styles at #7 would be my pick, if either one are there.

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

Well, broke down and did a simulated mock. Had a couple of trades. Since I haven't been following the talent this year, I thought I'd get a dismal grade but got a B+: (this ain't happening though)
13. LAR Jeremiyah Love RB Notre Dame trade-icon A+
42. NO Emmanuel McNeil-Warren S Toledo trade-icon A-
56. JAX Cashius Howell EDGE Texas A&M trade-icon B-
89. CHI Parker Brailsford OC Alabama trade-icon A+
100. JAX Zachariah Branch WR Georgia trade-icon A+
2027 CAR 2nd
2027 LAR 2nd

I'd only trade down for future picks though as this is supposedly the weakest draft in years.

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

No way I see them trading up for Love or anyone else.

I was originally on Downs, but it may be true that he is not a ball hawk and not really worthy of the 7th pick due to position value. He needs to be special in every way to justify a top 7 pick on a safety.

I believe Bain may very well make a lot of GMs look stupid. He destroyed top college OT's who had longer arms. But that's a risk I'm not willing to take with the 7th pick, they can't miss on this pick. Styles is now my preference but I actually believe they will take Tate for several reasons. 1. It obviously fills a need. 2. Free agent WRs are far more expensive than a free agent at the other positions discussed. The best way to get a good WR by far is through the draft. 3. They have to get Jayden back to 2024 Jayden Daniels. That means more to this team's future than any player they take at 7. He has proven that he can carry a team so give him weapons to get him back on track.

For many of the same reasons I can see Delane as the pick as well. Again a player, like Tate, who is not as good as the others discussed. But again it's a need, it's a critical position and CBs in free agency are expensive as well.

I don't believe that we have anyone specific in mind. Keim said that there are a few players that the team really like and the 7th spot is difficult to gauge cuz we don't know who will fall to us.

I don't see them taking Bain, too many questions and maybe not a scheme fit. Regarding Tate vs Delane, I would take Delane, why? Delane is easily a #1 CB, and Tate is Not a #1 wr, heck he wasn't even on his own college team.

I think my view has changes a tad since watching Keim. He seems to imply it is styles ober Delane. I mean a safety is great and all, but his angle is he is not going to directly affect the QB. Anyone in the front 7 could, and potentially a lockdown corner. The only offensive player we should pick at 7 is Love and that ain't gonna happen because he will be gone by 5. If love is there, we MUST pick him. He is a game changer and easily the best offensive player in the draft that isn't a QB.
My guess is we get the top CB in Delane, then a Wr in the third.
Otherwise it will be us getting lucky with Styles, Love. I now am thinking Delane over Caleb Downs. Having Downs as your backup plan is an exceptionally good problem to have, because I still see him as a star, just not one who contributed to sacks.

If we get Love, I would freak out. I know, I know, but that dude changes everything on offense, who else on the list can you say that about? Hell, he could go #2, I wouldn't be surprised, ok...a bit

1. Bailey edge, not likely available 10% available
2. Reese edge, not likely available 20% available
3.(4) Love RB, not likely available 25% available
4.(5) Styles LB, possible, ideal 50% available
5.(7) Delane CB, most likely, very good 60% available
6.(3) Downs safety, likely available 80% available
7.(6) Bain DL, likely available, not scheme fit 70% available
8. Tate WR, meh 2nd wr 70% available

I think we're gonna get Delane

I'd drop Love from 3 to 6 (bumping Styles up to 3) mostly because of positional value and because I still think we need more help on D than O, and then flip Downs (now 4) and Delane (now 5). But I agree with the rest of this.

Shit. Lawrence to the Bengals for the 10th pick. They (Giants) have 5 and 10. Ugh.
