They have had their best offseason in years. Had a very solid FA, hired a SB winning coach with decades of experience, and now have 2 top 10 picks. Whole division should be improved next year for NFC East.

Does the trade impact our intentions? Did the Bengals come asking about Payne and we said no? Probably maybe and I doubt it, or a good package for the #10 and Payne couldn't be agreed (I'd guess they'd want an extra pick or two and Payne).

But it does add an extra consideration to our pick. Who are the Giants after that they wanted the extra pick so much? Probably WR or CB. Does that change our choice? Probably not, but it does make me hope we spoil the Giants party a bit with whoever we pick.

If you could would you be willing to trade down and only have picks 50 and 71 in this draft and receive the following in 2027: Tennessee 1,2,3, Buffalo 2d, Carolina 2d, Detroit 2d?

It seems like a steal for the Giants to be perfectly honest. A top 10 pick for a nose tackle that is turning or is 29 seems crazy. From what I've read the trade was an addition by subtraction for the Giants. Lawrence was disgruntled and Harbaugh didn't want that contaminating the locker room so they shipped him off. Plus it sounds like it gives them 13 mil in cap space.

Payne is no Lawrence but if Cincy is giving out blue chip draft capital for him I'd think a day 2 pick and maybe a day 3 is reasonable.

I also suspect Harbaugh was pretty pleased to stick Lawrence in the AFC North so that the team that just fired him has to see him 2X per year.

I just saw a mock that made me throw up in my mouth a bit -- Giants use picks 5 and 10 to get Love and Downs. I think they need something more for their already dreadful run defense, but without some dominant interior D lineman projected to go early, I could see this happening. And it would suck for us. I guess I have to wrap my brain around the fact that with 2 picks in the top 10, they're going to get two impactful players. Maybe we can suggest to Schoen that he take on Rivera as a draft consultant so that they can make a Forbes-like move.

Couple of days left. Seen a couple of reports saying to avoid Styles and I can see why. I've run a few 1st round mocks and every time Love is gone, so I'm taking Downs, Delane or Tate in that order of preference. A trade down now just feels wrong, especially with the Giants getting the #10.

I agree re: trading down at this point. It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys try to trade up -- I could see that happening. I hope we get Downs. We haven't done enough to shore up the back end which was a terrible weakness for us last year. I haven't heard anything negative about Styles -- if you have links to any posts on that, I'd like to see it. I have to believe that one of Reese, Bain, Downs, Styles, or Bailey will be available for us at 7 (my guess is Downs or Styles based on positional value). I assume Love is likely gone with the Titans at #4, and there surely must be an OT that goes in the top 6.
