If somebody wanted to crack you on your chin or punch you in the throat, it wouldn't be too hard to get around the facemask. I'll take the spit.

no one was trying to crack someone on the chin or punch someone in the throat

sean taylor was trying to get away with spitting in someones face, but he got caught...then pittman hit him on the top of his helmet
