Re: Season expectations poll

After going 3-0 I must say I really had high hopes for the redskins. Then at 5-6 I definitely thought it was going to be another 7-9 or 8-8 seeason. Next came the 5 game winning streak and the playoffs. I was nervous about playing Tampa even though I thought we probably had the best chance to beat them over any other choice. Then of course was todays Seattle game that we were actually in until late in the 4th qtr. I loved Redskins football this season, and Im a little bummed that we have to wait a long time for more Redskins football. All in all if was a great season and exceeded my expectations. Im on the road to XLI now.

Re: Season expectations poll

Definitely exceeded mine... if someone would have told me back in August that the Skins would go 10-6 and win a playoff game I would have been pretty happy about that.

We had a hell of a season, from sweeping the Cowboys and Eagles, to winning 5 in a row to claw our way into the playoffs, I'm very satisfied and it's really fun to be a Redskins fan again!

Re: Season expectations poll

I always thought we were a 9-7 to 10-6 team talent and coaching wise. All we needed was some luck and health. I thought 10-6 was a reasonable expectation. And I thought 10-6 was probably good for a WC. Playoffs are unpredictable at the begining because how can you tell how weak a conference is and whether a WC even ahs a chance. Getting in and winning fit this teams talent but the playoffs are a weird animal man.

PS: I love the Skins. I might stay up all night writing about them.

Memories that noone can take away.
Moss on MNF in Dallas.
Taylor in Phili and Tampa.
Portis in AZ.
Cooley vs Dallas.
ETC ETC ETC.
Exceeded my expectations. Lotsa dramatic games and a real team feel to the organization. And Williams is staying. XLI here we come, GO REDSKINS!!!

good point. i will always remember the Tampa playoff game and the two dallas games as high points of the season. Also the five game stretch.

It is sad to say but it only met my expectations. I thought we would go 10-6 and enter as a wildcard. I always joked super bowl but really i thought we would lose the first or second round of the playoffs and if lucky maybe get to the third. SO i guess it landed in the middle at the second round so it MET my expectations.

Re: Season expectations poll

Based on my feelings in August, it exceeded my expectations. I thought we could make the playoffs, but 8-8, 9-7, would not have shocked me. We have a lot to build on and are a few pieces away from having an even better shot next year. Now that we got back into the playoffs, next year lets get homefield.

Re: Season expectations poll

I actually said 10-6 before the year, so I said met my expectations. However, taking things into context, they defintley exceeded them. This really was the most memorable season of my life, which I cant even describe how awsome it was. Sucks it had to end like this.

Re: Season expectations poll

even though I've been extremely optimistic at times this season, I didn't think they would have made this much of an improvement in the areas they needed to after last season. I think the accomplishment I'm most proud of the skins acheiving this year other than their first playoff victory in 6 years is a 5-1 record in the division with our only loss in the division coming off an absolute fluke of a game. You did damn good this year Skins and lets keep the improvements coming.

Re: Season expectations poll

If you told me that the Redskins would eliminate and sweep Dallas and Philly,
end our regular season at 10-6, eliminate Tampa in Tampa by 7 points then take Seattle down to the wire and lose in the playoffs, I would call you a wishful thinker. But next year looks very promising. A second wideout (Brandon Llyod ) to compliment
Moss and another running back to compliment Portis. In addition an explosive defensive tackle and end and we are looking at a team who can win 13 games.

Re: Season expectations poll

They exceeded all my expectations. I never thought Brunell could put together another season like this and Moss played better than I could have ever hoped. They were in every game they played this year except for that debacle against the Giants and they play with more heart and dedication than I can remember seeing in a Redskins squad since the first time Joe Gibbs strolled the sidelines. I am a bit worried about how much longer Brunell can keep going and wonder what sort of progress Jason Campbell has made this year. I'd also like to see the team get a receiver the complement Santana, and though I have not seen a complete list of potential free agents, I do know that Reggie Wayne is eligible for free agency and would love to see him in Burgundy and Gold. A pass rushing DE would also be a nice upgrade. Having said that, I hope Synder and Cerrato don't go crazy like the did last time the Skins made the playoffs. They really destroyed the chemistry of that '99 squad when the brought in all those free agents and especially by signing Jeff George (a T.O. signing might be the equivalent this year). I think Joe Gibbs has full control and won't let anything like that happen, and hopefully they will look to the relative quite of last offseason and see that making a big splash in March does not equate to wins in January.

Having said that, thanks for an incredible season and for making it so much fun to cheer for the Redskins!

Re: Season expectations poll

I'm just chock full of love today. I just feel so grateful to look at my calendar, see that it's the middle of January, and we're only now just starting to embark on the offseason.

I love this team. I love Dan Snyder for giving Gibbs all that he needs to turn the team around. Dan Snyder deserves a lot of credit, he has been a tremendous owner over the last two years. I love Gregg Williams for his passion and loyalty to the Skins, he's staying! I love all the players, from Cooley's goofy personality to the grit of the O-line and D-line to Portis's press conferences. But most of all, I LOVE Joe Gibbs. Seeing him back on the sidelines in a playoff game just does my heart right. He is a true leader, and I feel so blessed to know that he is going to be here this offseason, continuing to build on what is already a team I am in love with.

This team exceeded my expectations. I was hoping for 9-7 or 10-6 and maybe a wildcard. But to come back from 5-6 to win 5 in a row, make the playoffs, and win a playoff game, that just shows grit, determination, and good character. The 10-6 result wasn't really surprising, but the way they got there was surprising, given the state of the team last year. The way the players interact and respect one another, and the way they love their coaching staff, it just makes me feel lucky to be a part of it as a fan.

The pride in this organization is back. Hail to the Redskins!

And when it came down to it, if we had Patten and Randy Thomas, I think we would have beat the Hawks. (Maybe just Thomas).

Great job Williams and Gibbs. Fill a couple of holes and take one more step in 2006!

Re: Season expectations poll

Sweep Dallas, Philly, challenge for the EAST, did NOT one and done in the playoffs! Incredible!!!!!!
The BEST thing is THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF WHAT WE WILL BE! Most coach's cannot take a team (ex. Houston) past where we are today! Joe and company will have a much solidified squad on the field next year! THANKYOU Joe for the memories!!!!!!!!!!!-AGAIN-HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
