Re: The Offense Was Too Conservative
Since people have pegged me as the "pessimist," I suggest you read some of my posts from earlier in the season when we weren't winning.
I note how people were overreacting to Loss http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=9275 I defended Gibbs playcalling after the loss to the Chargers http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread...5&page=3&pp=10 I told people not to give up on the team http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=9273 I defended Gibbs W-L record http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=9329 I defended the team, raising the strength of schedule http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=9425 Before I get labelled as purely, an attention-seeking MF'er, please do your homework. |

Re: The Offense Was Too Conservative
We need another WR. Our passing offfense is really bad. Not these two games. but the last 12. THe passing offense is bad. We only get 91% of the yards the opposing defenses give up through the air on average. So if a team on average gave up 200 yards in the air we on average this year would get 182. We are a below average passing team. I want a dominant WR that can play at number 1 but is a number 2. I want a reggie wayne. I do not want reggie wayne but A reggie wayne. Someone that we can get or trade for that is proven or do some magic in the draft. I want a great number 2.

Re: The Offense Was Too Conservative
Just a couple of observations about the offense:
1) Brunell looked a little stiff and a little out of sync 2) O line protection was less the ideal, esp with Raymer in 3) Seahawks defense was quick to the ball after the catch-- they shut down the WR screen pretty well-- Moss could not get a lot of yards after the catch like he did during the season. 4) CP looked banged up and kind of slow 5) We did miss RT on sweeps and pulling plays 6) With Patten back next year, we need only find a good #2 WR to fill in the offense and keep the dbs honest 7) Field position killed us for the first half 8) Not converting those 3 turnovers into at least 10 points really hurt us, esp in 4th quarter. Great teams convert the turnovers, and I think we lost momentum after that drive failed and Hall missed the kick. 9) JH does not seem the same-- maybe he is still hurt?
