Redskins vs. Cowboys Thanksgiving 2006...Not Happening (rumor just a rumor)

[Daseal]

I dont think this will happen because I just read an article about Tags and it seems he fears having the NFL get overexposed by having too many games on throughout the week (like MLB, NBA, NHL, etc). Like us, he enjoys the build-up and thinks that build-up is great for the league.

When I first heard this idea I wondered HOW they could have mid-week games. You'll get too many mismatches with one team extremely rested and another tired from playing on Tuesday or what not. Even the game after a MNF game shows a big drop in play, another day in there would kill the intensity of the game!

"Cowboys' Thanksgiving game is staying put: Tagliabue said the Cowboys' Thanksgiving game will remain on network television, contrary to a report recently that the league wanted to put the Cowboys against Washington in the night game on NFL Network.

The Cowboys would prefer to keep their 3:15 kickoff. The league releases its schedule in April."
