If the fix really was in, the Seahawks would have won or at least covered and I'm sure the casinos and bookies everywhere would have made a killing.
The officiating has sucked for years... that doesn't necessarily mean the games are rigged. The game is becoming too fast for the human eye to properly judge. You've got these huge guys who can run like the wind and plays are bang-bang on the field, and these refs are under enormous pressure to get the calls right. They probably get 98% of the calls correct, but it's that very small percentage they get wrong that gets held under the microscope. As long as there's the human element to officiating, mistakes are going to happen, it's that simple. Everyone is overlooking the fact that Seattle just didn't play well enough to win the game. Penalties, horrible clock management, poor exeuction, etc., were the main causes they lost the game. Blaming the refs is always the convenient excuse. I'm not denying there were some bad calls, but that wasn't the main reason they lost. |
