2007
sooo hypothetically speaking,, IF the 2007 season is presented with no salary cap, what do you think will happend as far as the redskins go. i mean i dont really know whether to be excited or not, im excited in the sense of imagining the players that will come to washington because we all know mr snider is a big spender and will do whatever it takes to get that throphy, but at the same time knowing all the top players that will come here could mean a major bashing by all the papers and cristics and sooo on,, if we end up with big players and we have a bad season we most definatelly gonna be the laughing stock,, if we win the super bowl then of course everyone is gonna say the only reason we won is because all the big players we brought in and that without them we would never win, not to mention being compared to the yankees and soo on, and on another note that i forgot to mention is coach gibbs and since snider gave him pretty much control of the team how will that go. i am majorly puzzled about the situation and i would really like to know what the rest of the fans think.
p.s. i have done a search on this subject and i have not seen it,, if i missed it and this is a repost then i apologize.

Re: 2007
say what you want about old danny boy but if we go into 2007 uncapped, look out nfl.we will be signing big namers that arent past their prime(like b smith, deion, etc.)a win is a win is a win.get ready for big things from the skins.by the way,no way the nfl goes uncapped(in my opinion)

Re: 2007
all the teams in the nfc east would be competitive with contracts, and FAs would generally be older (6 years served vs 4 years) and crappy (since teams could keep good players regardless of cost).
the draft may also be declared illegal among other hazy legal situations that would cloud any kind of accurate projection of a future NFL. |

Re: 2007
I think we would turn into the NY Yankees of the NFL...and get every top of the line FA available, as long as GIBBS wants them.....The only difference from us and the Yankees would be that our owner would actualy listen to his coach, as long it's Gibbs or Williams or Saunders...not to sure what would happen if we get a WISHY WASHY COACH...then Snyder might turn into the BOSS....

Re: 2007
I thought there really wasnt a FA market like this year, but next year it's wide open.
I have a question -- if no CBA gets done, could we ask players to restructure but get a huge payday in the first uncapped year? Or is restructuring a no-no?
