Like I said in a previous post I think the player needs to weigh whether renegotiating and staying is the best thing for his career. If it is then reneg, if not then tell the team sorry. The NFL is a meat grinder and players are chewed-up and spit out fast with, imo, little regard and compensation by the teams so they need to get as much as they can as fast as they can.
I actually agree with you. My issue is that there's a double standard if people give Brunell a pass while other guys like TO or LaVar get torn down for getting paid or wanting to get paid. It's not that much of a different and that's what I'm trying to get people to acknowledge. If he chooses not to restructure, it's a similar situation.

I could be wrong on this, but I think the difference is that TO had a contract that he wanted tore up and redone. LaVar alleged that $6 million in bonus money was owed him that was a mistake (misunderstanding?) on his agent's part. MB isn't asking for more money or a new deal, just what's on his contract.

But as I said before I think his posturing at the moment is all part of the bigger CBA picture.
