Re: Lavar Gone
LaVar said "I want to come back and walk in FedEx Field once a year." Now that sounds personal! I'm pretty sure he'll sign with the Giants as they have depleted LB core.

Given that the NFC East rivals are all in the market for OLBs and Arrington wants to play in the NFC East, who does he go to? Cowboys, Eagles, or Giants? I say he goes to the Cowboys (even though he says it might tough to go there and he ended Aikman's career). He'd love that sort of drama. |

It will be interesting to see if Coughlin or Reid will want him as well. Coughlin could be swayed by AP for or against lavar, & Reid & co. might not want to take on another attention seeking ego w/baggage after their TO debacle. |

Re: Lavar Gone
You act like LaVar is a disruption to the team. There are going to be a ton of teams out there trying to bring him in. They wont need to be persuaded into signing him. Right now there is said to be 10 teams, all the NFC east teams are some of them. Parcells, not interested in #56, are you crazy! He is the mold of LT, passionate, looking to kill the QB, fast, strong, great athlete. I think it will be hard for him not to sign him.

He's handled his parting of ways very very well, and he's always been completely clean off the field and been good with the media. BUT, he never liked film study and never made much of an attempt to improve his game. he didn't use move (rip, tear, spin) when rushing the QB as much as trying to bowl people over. lindsey probably got pretty pissed becauses out of all the LBs here, he was the only one that didn't work on technique or field awareness. He's been living on his natural talent thusfar and the problem, of course, is once you get hurt and slow down your advantage over other players becomes much less noticeable. sean taylor also has the same type of crazy talent, but he's been working on technique and film study, and he's already making plays like he did in college. |

don't get me wrong, I'm a lavar fan & i really wanted to see him stay & mature, but don't overstate his performance, he's a home run hitter, which means he also strikes out a lot. He was stunted by the coaching turnover (as today's wilbon article points out), but he's never seemed to play disciplined in any system. If parcells wants him where will they play him? Strongside linebacker? Move D. Ware to strongside & put Lavar at weakside. That might work best, but then they'd have their best pass rusher, Ware, over the tight end. Somebody would be unhappy. I'm not crazy, but comparing LA to LT seems close. I could see him in Dallas only if they got him for a very cheap price, say $1 mil/year w/bonus at 2-3 mil. The Giants, that seems more likely. Of course a lot of other teams will be interested in him, he's only 27. According to espn.com a lot of teams were interested in 31 yr. old Derek Smith, but that doesn't make him a hall of famer. |

Re: Lavar Gone
i was reading the thing from PFT on the eagles site. Do we save 10 point whatever million? If so this is amazing. I feel bad for lavar though. This is more the coaches faul than his. Maybe I haven't got a chance to hear the coaches(i missed dale lindsey on bram so if someone could say some key points) and I am just taking lavar's word for it. Could it be true he really did this for the skins.
remember this? |

Re: Lavar Gone
Everybody wants to hate on the guy, but fact is fact he is going to be so motivated to get back to his old self. He is going to sign with a NFC east team, and as Wilbon said this morning, Parcells mouth is watering seeing that 56 on the free agent market. For some reason we failed to use LaVar in ways that would maximize his talent. If Parcells signs him, you watch out. the guy will make plays all day long. I just have a very bad feeling about him saying he wants to walk back into fed x once a year. All 3 NFC east teams are looking for OLB, so its a very high percentage he will sign with one of those teams. Its going to turn out to be one of the stupidest moves of all time for the Redskins.
