Ticket price up $20 to $99.
i got my Redskins season ticket bill and ticket prices went from $79 to $99. Also the Red lot parking pass went from $250 last year to $350 this year. Since I bought mine with the tailgate promotion, I have to buy the tailgate club or have to give up the seats. It will cost almost $400 per game for 2 people. Ridiculous.

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
I haven't seen my bill, but I had heard the prices were going up higher than that. Should I be relieved at a 25%+ increase?

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
this is all cause the wizards did well. Wiz got better and jumped prices by 60%, so the skins figure they've got a playoff game and now you can start paying for their 2007 roster

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
Last fall (I think it was right after the Dallas game), after 7 years on the waiting list, I finally got the call I never thought would come: I could buy season tickets.
I thought about it for half a second and said "Thanks, but no thanks." Then, I got in the car, hauled ass to Best buy and got a nice big HD big screen (I spent about what I would have payed for 10 tickets for two seats plus parking). My seats are better, warmer and more comfortable than Fedex and the traffic and parking are much easier to deal with. Also, any time there is a great play or a close call, I can rewind it and zoom in on my DVR. Now, if I could only get my neighbors to pay me $6 for every beer. ;-)

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
I dont think it matterw what the price is. We all will go to the games. and those who dont go, there are thousands of people who will pay the money to go. So until people stop paying the price he asks for and stay home, they will continue to go up. I know I pay the price to go almost all the home games, so I cant complain.

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
Being at the game is so much better than watching it on TV. The energy and excitement are awesome. The only drawback is it takes 6-8 hours to go to a game so your day is shot and you can't see the other games...

-Giant fans -Cowboy fans -(and most of all) Eagle fans Seriously, part of my reasoning is from the perspective of a father. Fedex is simply not family friendly at this point. If I decide my kids need to learn to be flaming, drunken aholes, I'll take them there for an Eagles game. Hopefully they will take the ticket price increase and reinvest it in more security (how much do those guys in the yellow jackets count against the salary cap anyway?).

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
I got on the waiting list for season tickets a year or two ago witht eh thought that by my mid 30's or 40's when I'm at the top of the list I'd be able to afford the tickets. But if the team is on the path that we all know it's on (back to greatness that is) we'll all be priced out of games in no time. Maybe I should go to law school now so that I can afford tickets whenever my name is up.

Re: Ticket price up $20 to $99.
No more complaining about ticket prices, please. This Tom Knott excerpt pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject:
"Snyder repeatedly has shown he is willing to spend whatever it takes to field a winner, sometimes to the team's detriment in yesteryear. Yet fans cannot have it both ways. They cannot embrace Snyder's free-spending manner in pursuit of coaches and personnel and then not expect the cost to be passed along to them at some point in the process. That is the business model, like it or not." http://washingtontimes.com/sports/20...2915-5891r.htm

PS, you should know that an NFL game is not kid friendly. I dont care what stadium you go to. NFL promotes tail gating, eating and drinking. If the game is at 1, they open at 10 or 10:30, if its at 4 or later they open early enough to watch the early games. If you want to take you kids to a fan friendly experience, go to RFK or camden yards. I have a kid and I know damn well Fed X field on a Sunday afternoon is no place for him, unless I go in with the mind set that hey, you are going to hear some stuff from people, but we dont use that language at home. |
