I see your points about Randel-El, but I still like him a lot. He's so versatile and explosive that it's hard not to be tempted by him.

Also, remember the last wideout we picked up who didn't have great career numbers and who was pegged as the #3 wideout before he ws traded to us? Santana Moss is his name. I'm not saying that R.E. is the next Sanatana Moss, but I wouldn't rely solely on his stats in assessing his worth.

Additionally, remember the knock on Burress? It was said that Burress was a disappointment, a guy with tremendous athletic ability who just didn't produce. His stats weren't great before he went to NYC. Character issues aside, I'd say he's worked out really well for the Giants.

Ultimately, as with all free agents, whether I'd support going after him depends on his price. If he's looking for #1-type money, forget him. But, if he can be had for a reasonable price, go for him.
